About the Festival
The Utah Chamber Music Festival is a celebration of musical excellence, bringing together world-class classical musicians and rising stars. Set in intimate venues across Utah, the festival fosters deep connections between artists and audiences. Through timeless performances, masterclasses, and educational outreach, the festival enriches Utah’s cultural landscape while inspiring the next generation of musicians.
Each year, we invite both seasoned listeners and newcomers to experience the beauty and power of chamber music. With partnerships at Utah’s leading educational institutions, the festival serves as a bridge between local communities and international talent, establishing Utah as a vibrant hub for the performing arts.
This year’s performances will feature beloved works by three of classical music’s greats: Mozart, Brahms, and Dvořák.
Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor, K. 478 is a rare exploration of the minor key, showcasing his ability to convey deep, complex emotions through simple, elegant music. This brooding, dramatic piece is a standout in his repertoire, known for its stormy intensity and delicate resolution.
Brahms’ rich textures and lyrical expressiveness are on display in his chamber music. His works are known for their profound emotional depth and mastery of form, which will captivate audiences with their grandeur and subtlety.
Dvořák’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 87 offers a refreshing contrast with its folk-inspired melodies and improvisational feel. This piece shines with a lively, rustic charm, making it a joyous and accessible highlight of the festival program.
